Saint Laurent Paris Ss15 Campaign Ad
I have very little experience with photography so I don't have personal photos that I'm proud of yet but this has been my favorite image for a long time by far. It's from SLP's Summer '15 campaign when Hedi Slimane was the creative director of the brand. The way the shadows fall on the models face and across the water is amazing and having the super bright highlights around the boat creates a kind of frame for the model. This brings the focus onto the details of the rider jacket and shirt. Hedi Slimane reshaped SLP's image by creating a definitive style that could be immediately recognized without any branding and I feel like this photograph perfectly captures the signature SLP image by being so minimal yet still having attitude. I love this aesthetic and hope to incorporate it this semester.
